Searching for E-Journals is improved
Improved search functionality and display of results.
We have released a new version of our E-Journals A-Z list with improved functionality. While the Libraries' home page has not changed, results from the E-Journals search on the home page will now display in the new interface.
The new A-Z list provides the following improved functionality:
- Results now display in the detailed view by default so that you can see what online holdings are available before clicking on the link to the fulltext.
- A new link to journal history (continues/continued by/absorbed by/etc.) displays in the results if there are any related titles.
- When you type words into the A-Z list search box (not the E-Journals search box on the home page), the systems suggests titles for you to choose from.
- Greater visibility for the citation search. During the focus groups, we learned that many people were unaware that it was possible to search by a citation. We want to make this feature more available.
- Better cross-browser functionality and improved accessibility.
- Wording changes: the "Categories" tab has been changed to "Subjects" and the "Locate" tab to "Advanced".
- Transitional look and feel. More in line with the new website style.
